Porter is 1 month old!

At 1 month old Porter is:

- Sleeping 3 to 4 ½ hours at night except for the occasional gassy night. Feeding him every 3 hours during the day.
- Still sleeping in the bassinet in our room.
- Grunting, cooing, and gurgling. Starting to smile intentionally : )
- Pretty easy to get back down at night after feedings besides all of the grunting
- Still eating for 10 to 15 minutes each feeding
- Still wearing newborn clothes and newborn diapers. Switched to pampers swaddlers from swaddlers sensitive. They work so much better for us for some reason. No more peeing out. Yay!
- Enamored by the ceiling fan.
- Loves to sleep in his nap nanny.
- Has not had a pumped bottle yet.
- Still has blue/grey eyes…for now.
- Only interested in his paci when he is hungry
- Losing his hair on top, but not really on the sides?

Porter's first real smile at 1 month and 2 days old. (December 14th, 2012).  Please excuse the annoying baby talk. I was just really excited.

Happy camper

I needed to get some things done around the house and P was being fussy so I decided to try out the baby bjorn.  He loves it! Glad it it's not a waste! I was able to do so much toting him around and he didn't make a peep. It is also a lot easier to take on and off than I expected.

Growing, Growing

Porter is growing, growing and making his momma sad. He looks like a different baby from the day he came home from the hospital. I am glad he is healthy, but I want him to stay a baby forever. Yes, I am one of those weird moms.

3 weeks old! Best we could get. Such a wiggle worm.

Life has been pretty quiet here at the Banchero household. We haven't taken Porter out and about since  birth. I wanted to wait until around two months. Every time I turn around I talk to someone who has, has had or their child has the flu. I literally have not taken him anywhere except to the doctor and for a ride in car.  I know, I know I am psycho momma.

First car ride with momma alone to the post office drop box and back home.

Second car ride to target with momma and daddy. We sat in the car while daddy ran in for diapers.

We get cabin fever so Chris finds ways to entertain us.
Chris named this one King Ka Duka

Momma's socks??
Tiny baby
Every time I turn around this State teddy is by Porter's side. I put it up and magically it's back out again. hmm...

"Say Hello, Wave Goodbye"

It seemed like we just got home from the hospital and it's already been over 2 and a half weeks. Time for Meme to leave : (  Having a child makes me appreciate my Mom 1000 times over knowing now how challenging it is. The worry, no sleep, etc, etc. She did it with 4 children, 2 of those being twins! I just don't know how she did it. She taught me a lot in those two short weeks. Now I feel like I have more patience and worrying a little less (maybe?).  From cooking, cleaning, laundry, staging our house for pictures for the selling flyer, ideas for newborn pics, decorating the house for Christmas to everything with caring for P. The list goes on and on...

Meme clipping P's fingernails. She asked me if I was going to bite them? Did not know people did this?
Bath time
Cord finally came off!
Time to get dunked! Meme could hardly wait to do this. I was a little scared to do it myself.

Eating the towel.....think someone was hungry

Meme babysat while we went out to eat for our anniversary. We ended up getting our food to go. Couldn't stand to be away from lil P
Please excuse my appearance. I just had a baby. Chris's shirts come in very handy sometimes

Happy Thanksgiving! Meme and Momma are crazy decorating me in pumpkins!

Seems like we just said hello and now we are waving goodbye. We miss you Meme!

First Two Weeks and Newborn Sessions

Porter is two weeks old!!

2 week check up

We had our two week check up on November 27th. P weighed in at 7lb and 3oz! He was 6lb, 8oz at birth and 6lbs, 3oz when we left the hospital. That means he gained a pound in 2 weeks! I was concerned because he only eats for 10 to 15 minutes at a time. His pediatrician told me it was okay as long as he was gaining weight. He said he must be an efficient eater. Believe me, I am not complaining. He is 20 1/2 inches long, and 13 1/4 inches in head circumference. This puts him in the 13th percentile for weight, 40th percentile for length, and 5th percentile for head. He is still pretty small, but growing which makes me a happy momma. He definitely got his momma's little head. : )

Sweet Daddy lovin'

I know these are "poo" smiles but they sure do make me happy : )

We had newborn pictures taken by Connie Chrietzburg at Cherished Memories Photography. She did a great job, might I add. Porter did really well besides the fact he hated being naked. He was pretty sleepy the whole time so that made it easier. Plus, my mom and Connie did some good holding and soothing throughout the day. I was absolutely exhausted afterwards! Here are a few of the pics.....
